Do You Believe in Magic?

"You shrunk my Honda B@#ch!"

Ah yes, YouTube. Where would we be without you? Through the power of YouTube, these hilarious David Blaine knock-off sketches are getting more coverage than they would on Network TV. There is a series of four available for your viewing pleasure. The first one has received over 14 million views. Mitch Silpa definitely has the David Blaine, ‘are you impressed’ stare down like a pro. I think the third one is my favorite. Check them out:

The first three come off as genuine comedy, although the fourth one seems to be infiltrated by some guy Zaoza. I guess we’ll have to see how that relationship develops.

Targeting GenY: Impact through Experience

Check out this article in the latest Event Solutions release: A New Generation of Event Marketing

Creative experiential programming has definitely become a must for marketers who really want to make a genuine connection with their audience. We were highlighted for our recent work on the Sparks, Ignite What’s Next tour, and for the live collaborative painting demonstration we had at our holiday party.

One common misconception is that the experience has to directly relate to the product/brand. This is not always the case. Create something that is fun and the audience will dig it.

Poverty Ends with Free Rice and a little Education

Play a game and fight world hunger. Yep, it's actually that simple. is a pretty amazing idea, marrying altruism, education, and marketing. The idea is simple: play a vocabulary game and for each word you get right, FreeRice will donate 20 grains of rice through the UN World Food Program to end hunger.

The creators definitely got this one right, making an addictive game that can replace a multitude of mindless other computer addictions (minesweeper anyone?) while giving back to the world. Now, how can we also make this vocabulary game available to the people who are receiving the rice? Programs like "One Laptop Per Child" are paving the way to do just that.

Don't be shy - do something good for the world and learn something while doing it!
